What's New for January 2012

A mix of birds, insects, landscapes, and a few photoshopped creations.

Harlequin bugs were new to my yard this month. A visit to Goleta to see the wintering home of the monarch butterflies yielded several photos of monarch clusters and a very cute gopher!

I added two new (to me) insects to my field guides:
  • Fuller rose beetle - Pantomorus cervinus
  • Darkling beetle - Gondwanocrypticus platensis
Thanks to Eric Eaton, I corrected and added several insect identificatons.
