Ants, Wasps, and Bees have two pairs of membranous wings. While ants generally do not have wings, the reproductives do.This section on wasps includes sawflies, velvet ants, parasitic wasps, and those most commonly identified by the public as wasps (stining wasps). I have broken out bees and ants separately for ease of use, although scientifically they should be included with the stinging wasps.
The Wasp by Ogden Nash
"The wasp and all his numerous family I look upon as a major calamity. He throws open his nest with prodigality, But I distrust his waspitality."
