What's New November 2013Lots of birds, bugs, spiders, and even a few cats. What's New November 2013
My photos for the month include an assortment of birds, bugs, spiders, and charismatic mammals including a few cats.
My niece came to visit from England. She just completed her masters in science education, so instead of Disneyland and Hollywood I showed her some of the diversity of California's habitats. We went birding at Bolsa Chica wetlands and Sims' Pond Biological Reserve. We went tide-pooling and hiked on the Palos Verdes peninsula. I showed her the desert at Joshua Tree National Park and Big Morongo Canyon Preserve. I think she had a good time - I know I did.
Later in the month, I discovered Gibbs Park in Huntington Beach where the monarch butterflies are overwintering locally. There is always somewhere new to discover!
