Family Sphecidae - Thread-waisted wasps

They prey upon spiders to put into their mud nests for their larvae. They fill a cell with several paralyzed spiders, lay a single egg, and seal the cell until the egg hatches, the larva grows feeding on the live spiders, and pupates. The newly emerged wasp pushes out of the mud cell. While filling the cell, the wasp may put a temporary covering over it to keep Parasites from entering the nest.
