Loggerhead Shrike - Lanius ludovicianus

Order: PASSERIFORMES - Perching birds
Family: LANIIDAE -Shrikes

Uses its hooked beak to kill insects, lizards, mice, and birds, and impales them on thorns while it rips them apart.

Some residents now rare. Migrants July to March.
