The day started out in the 70' and went up to the 90's. Some spring wildflowers were blooming. Is this really November? It was a great day for the count, as it has been all year. We saw over 150 individual Western Pygmy Blues, and that was on our transect alone. There were 21 participants, with 5 on our transect. Some of the butterflies definitely looked like they had reached the end of the season and were very tattered and worn. One unusual sight was an Osprey flying over the hills. This is not a normal habitat for them, but Irvine lake is close by and he must have been headed there.
