The day was very pleasant for December with temperature rising to about 78. There was some high-level cloud cover ranging from 80% to 50% as the day progressed. Many plants have died off be we saw some wildflowers that seemed out of season. Several oak trees had succumbed to the drought and had fallen. There were quite a few butterflies, both in variety and number, for this late in the season.
