Biodiversity hunts or "BioBlitzes" take place over a very short period and scientific experts, amateur naturalists, and park staff search for and try to identify all living things within a particular landscape.
Joshua Tree National Park held its first of two 2013 biodiversity hunts at Cottonwood Spring and Lost Palms Oasis on March 22 and 23. I had the privilege of attending and these photos are my contribution.
The Campground and Mastodon trail are outside the research area and are in a separate folder.
